The essay was soon translated into French and Dutch, Italian and Finnish (in which the word nationalism was represented by chauvinisme). In the essay, Orwell uses the term nationalism to pick out a tendency to think in terms of 'competitive prestige' and argues that it causes people to disregard common sense and become more ignorant towards facts. I first noted this when I saw the Strawberry Theater Workshop’s production of Our Town last year. The language in Our Town has become stilted over the years, and can prevent actors from being comfortable. There is no denying that some aspects of Wilder’s work are dated. Time, however, casts even the most revered works into new lights, and some of the more dated aspects of the play call into question whether it ought to remain the standard it is. Accumulating more recognition and awards over time, including a tony for Best Revival in 1989, Our Town ’s prominent place in the modern repertoire seems well deserved. The full collection was published in 1999 by Top Shelf Productions. It's an imaginative look at a city populated entirely by superheroes and the difficulties that the (equally superpowered) police have in maintaining order. Saga of the Swamp Thing was a genuinely terrifying horror comic whose stories dealt with supernatural horrors such as werewolves, vampires, and zombies, but also handled the real-world monsters of nuclear waste mismanagement, domestic abuse, and the legacy of racism haunting a Louisiana plantation. It was revealed that the titular monster (known as Alex Holland) was not a human who'd changed form, but was in fact a plant elemental who'd absorbed the consciousness of the dead human scientist of that name. In the second issue Moore wrote, the character lay on an operating table where he was literally and existentially dissected.
